This page shows some of the possible applications of intEMT® using specific examples. Behind each of the use cases are one or more intEMT® modules that were used to generate the results shown.

Model validation process to quantify the accuracy of component models
The quality of the results of a simulation or optimisation depends heavily on the accuracy of the component models used. To verify this, the following process is carried out for all our models in intEMT.
Processing of measurement data from the actual plant, e.g. input and output power of a chiller or a combined heat and power plant

Extraction of parameters from the data, e.g. rated power, efficiency curve and dynamic behaviour

Derivation of the power requirement from the data set, if not explicitly available

Simulation of the time period using the model, which is configured on the basis of the extracted parameters and run with the power requirement

Comparison of the resulting time histories of the model’s output variables with the measured data and calculation of descriptive statistical parameters, such as MAE (mean absolute error)
